Week 3 | Aquin vs AFC

Freeport -

The Aquin Bulldogs came into week 3 with a 2-0 record, and feeling good about themselves on the young season. They would square off with AFC, who has struggled out of the gates to an 0-2 record. For the 2nd week in a row, Aquin found themselves in a dog fight heading to the half with a 14-6 lead.

Aquin would get on the board first, late in the 1st quarter as Will Gustafson kept a QB keeper up the middle for a 1 yard plunge to give Aquin a 7-0 lead with a minute remaining in the quarter.

AFC would respond in the 2nd quarter at the midway point with a Cameron Thomas 8 yard TD run. The 2 point conversion failed, giving Aquin a 7-6 lead. However, just over 2 minutes later Gustafson would do it again, this time on a 67 yard keeper for the score giving Aquin that 14-6 lead at the half.

In the second half, it was all Aquin as they added 2 TD's in the 3rd quarter, again on another Gustafson TD run from 3 yards out, and a Graysen DeMichele 14 yard TD run with 2:50 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

In the 4th quarter Ethan Yount put his name in the score column with TD runs of 37 yards and 44 yards to give Aquin the 41-6 win.

Aquin was led on the ground by Ethan Yount who had 131 yards on 11 carries and 2 TD's. Will Gustafson pitched in 122 yards on 10 carries with 3 TD's, and went 7-19 passing for another 127 yards.

For AFC, Matt Thompson led the rushing attack with 52 yards on 10 carries, while Marcus Cater added another 49 yards on 6 carries.
