Milledgeville Missiles

The Milledgeville Missiles enter the 2019 season in search of their 4th consecutive playoff appearance. The Missiles have made 4 consecutive playoff appearances in school history just once, 1984-1987. In 2019, the Missiles will have a new look after graduating a large senior class that contributed to an undefeated regular season, a conference title, and an overtime 2nd round loss to the eventual state champions. They also return to the NUIC South Division, after a conference realignment puts them back in a conference with former rivals Forreston, EPC, and Aquin.

Last season, we had picked the Missiles to be the Upstate Conference Champion, and they lived up to the preseason hype. Entering the playoffs, the Missiles had a lot of doubters, but despite their short playoff run, they did turn a lot of heads in the process. Entering 2019, the Missiles will face Forreston and Amboy again, but will add new opponents in EPC, East Dubuque, and West Carroll, teams that Milledgeville fans are familiar with, but haven't seen in quite some time. The Missiles will also have a lot of holes to fill, so you could see some growing pains as this years squad tries to stay in the playoff hunt.

Milledgeville is 18-22 in the playoffs, but have never made the state final game, coming up short 3 times in 1998, 1999, and 2008. In search of their 23rd trip to the playoffs, the Missiles will have low varsity numbers again, and will once again focus on speed and strength in order to be competitive in 2019. The Missiles will kickoff the season on the road at Stockton.
