Week 3 | EPC vs Du-Pec

Pearl City -

At the beginning of the year, EPC looked the part of a team that is ready to do big things with all the talent they have returning. Friday night, after somewhat of a slow start, they showed it in all facets of the game as they pounded the Du-Pec Rivermen 36-0.

The Catz would get on the board midway through the 1st quarter with a 26 yard TD run by Jayden Kempel. The 2 point conversion was good to give EPC an 8-0 lead.

Once the 2nd quarter started, the gears started going for the Catz, as Jarod Kempel ran in the 2nd TD of the night on a 4 yard burst. This time the 2 point conversion failed, giving EPC a 14-0 lead with just over 7 minutes left before half.

With time about to expire in the 2nd quarter, Braeden Heeren would add another score, giving EPC a 22-0 halftime lead after the 2 point try was good.

Drives didn't materialize in the 3rd quarter, but once the 4th quarter struck, Jayden Kempel would punch in his 2nd TD of the day from a yard out to give EPC a 28-0 lead. Not too long later, Colin Colehour would put the final stamp on the scoring as he reached paydirt on a 2 yard TD run to bring the final score to 36-0.

On the night, Du-Pec was held to 11 total yards of offense, and never recorded a 1st down, a testament to how tough this EPC defense can be.

For EPC, Jayden Kempel finished with 221 yards on 21 carries with 2 TD's. Braeden Heeren chipped in 64 yards rushing on 12 carries with a score.
