The Aquin Bulldogs have a lot of history being one of the most consistent school's in playoff history. In 2018, the Bulldogs will begin a new chapter with the addition of a new coaching staff led by Head Coach Broc Kundert. The Bulldogs are coming off back to back quarterfinal runs, with the first run being a surprise, but last year's was expected. With the graduation of a lot of key players from those teams, the Dawgs have a lot of youth to rely on this season to go along with new direction.
The Bulldogs have struggled to top Stockton the last few years, but after a regular season loss to the Blackhawks, the Dawgs bounced back in the playoffs to upend Stockton and send them to the quarters in 2017. Aquin will have a lot to build on to stay at the top of the Upstate in 2018. With a core nucleus that will feature sophomores, the Bulldogs lack experience coming into the season, but they have a lot of skill, and feature a bigger line that they can build on.
The Bulldogs are looking for their 27th trip to the playoffs, where they are 37-23 all-time with 3 state titles. While the excitement level and possible expectations are high in Aquin, the Bulldogs may be vulnerable with their youth this year. They have made the playoffs 9 times over the past 10 seasons. It will be interesting to see what the Bulldogs can do in 2018. If they do make the playoffs this year, expect even bigger things looking forward.
