Round 1 | Aquin vs Oakwood

October 30, 2016

Aquin came into the IHSA Class 1A playoffs with the #4 seed and a home game against #13 seed Oakwood.

The Bulldogs didn't waste much time as Jonah Diemer hooked up with Tim Harrington on a 53 yard TD pass in the 1st quarter to give Aquin an early 6-0 lead.

Early in the 2nd quarter Diemer would connect again, this time to Bryce Carlson for a 7 yard TD pass to give Aquin a 12-0 lead. With just under 8 minutes to go before half Diemer hit Harrington again from 17 yards out for an 18-0 lead. Oakwood finally got on the board 2:33 before half as Chase Vinson found Austin Urso for a 13 yard TD pass. This would leave too much time for the Bulldogs, however as Carlson found himself in the end zone again on another 7 yard TD pass from Diemer as the Dawgs led 24-7 at the half.

In the second half the Bulldog rout was on as Cole Stykel and Cole Luedeking took over on the ground with 2 TD's and Diemer capped it off with a 99 yard TD pass to Zac Cummins as the Bulldogs won 52-13 in the 1st round game.

Diemer would end the day with 388 passing yards and 6 TD's.  With the win Aquin will advance to Round 2 and travel to LeRoy to take on the Panthers.
