Week 9 | EPC vs East Dubuque
This matchup between the Wildcatz and Warriors had playoff seeding and implications on the line. EPC came in at 7-1 looking to host a 1st round game as East Dubuque came in at 4-4 in search of that elusive 5th win after a 4-1 start to the season.
In a game that was a defensive struggle for both teams, EPC would get on the board first with a Jerod Kempel 4 yard TD run to give EPC an 8-0 lead. But East Dubuque came back as Jon Breitbach scored from a yard out to close the score to 8-6. East Dubuque would then score a safety from Addison Keltner and Braden Smargiassi would score on 1 yard TD run to give EPC a 17-6 lead at the half.
Both teams would score in the 4th quarter as Keegan Schubert had a 77 yard TD run and the Warriors would answer that with another Breitbach scoring run, this time from 64 yards out. EPC would come away with the win 24-13 and clinch the 1st round home playoff game. East Dubuque's loss would keep the Warriors out of the playoffs this season.
EPC will play host to Taylor Ridge Rockridge on Saturday afternoon.
