Week 6 | Orangeville vs AFC

A matchup that saw one team clinging to keep playoff hopes alive and the other needing a win to keep moving towards the playoffs brought a lot to the table Friday night.
AFC jumped out to a nice 16-0 lead early on off a David Atkinson 5 yard TD run in the 1st quarter and a Joe Uphoff 24 yard TD reception from Caleb Drew in the 2nd quarter. Then the Broncos started tick. Austin Guy connected with Caden Getz on a 34 yard TD pass to cut the deficit to 16-6. Later in the 2nd quarter Guy would strike again, this time on the ground with a 3 yard TD run. The 2 point conversion was good, cutting the deficit to 16-14 at the half.
AFC would go back to work opening the 2nd half with a Stephen Brooke 24 yard TD run extending the Raiders lead to 23-14. Then Guy came answering again, this time with a 14 yard TD run. The Broncos would have a successful 2 point conversion pulling them within 1 point, down 23-22 going into the 4th quarter.
In the 4th quarter, Guy would come through again for the Broncos. From 3 yards out, Guy would once again find the endzone on the ground giving the Broncos a 30-23 lead and sealing their 2nd victory of the season.
Guy finished the night 7-13 passing for 123 yards with 1 TD and 23 rushes for 80 yards and 3 TD's. Getz had 3 receptions for 60 yards and a score, while Andy Alber also hauled in 3 passes for 40 yards in the Broncos victory. The Broncos improve to 2-4, leaving the last 3 weeks as all must win games to make them playoff eligible.
AFC was led by Stephen Brooke's 34 carries for 131 yards and 1 TD. Atkinson had 4 carries for 13 yards to go along with his score and 3 receptions for 48 yards. Joe Uphoff had 2 receptions for 41 yards and a TD. The Raiders fall to 2-4 and find themselves in an uphill battle as the last 3 weeks are all must win games for them to become playoff eligible.
