Week 4: Le-Win vs Dakota

Entering another meeting of this rivalry, Lena-Winslow has held the upper hand for the past 7 seasons, as they were looking for their 8th straight victory over the Indians. The Panthers have put up 3 straight running clocks to open the season, as they entered the season ranked number 2 in state. Friday night would be no different, as the Panthers powered their way past Dakota once again.
The Indians would keep the score close for the first 15 minutes of the game as Le-Win scored on a 14 yard run by Marey Roby in the 1st quarter with 5:13 on the clock to take the early 8-0 lead. In the second quarter, Le-Win would begin to expand, as Roby would rush the ball for two more touchdowns, with his second score coming with 8:40 remaining until halftime, and then again with 53 seconds left in the half to extend the Panther lead 24-0.
In the 3rd quarter, the Panthers would say goodnight, as they scored quickly. First was Sean Ormiston running it in from 10 yards out just 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Just twelve seconds later after a Dakota fumble, Luke Benson would hit Kade Chrisman on a 35 yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 38-0 after an Ormiston two point try was good. Just 3 minutes later the clock would roll, as Ormiston found the endzone again, this time on a 78 yard scamper to put Le-Win up 46-0 with 5:36 left in the 3rd quarter.
The Indians would find the scoreboard twice in the 4th quarter as Lucas Sutherland would score his first and second touchdowns of his career on a 22 yard run and a 44 yard run. He would lead the Dakota rushing attack with 66 yards on 2 carries. The Indians would finish the night with 144 yards of offense, as they struggled all night to get anything moving against a powerful Panther defense. Josh Clark would rush the ball 10 times for 34 yards and go 1 for 2 passing on the night.
Le-Win was led by Sean Ormiston, who finished the night with 186 yards rushing on just 15 carries and 2 touchdowns. Ormiston would pass the 3,500 yard mark for his career in the process, while also collecting his 45th and 46th rushing touchdowns of his career. Marey Roby pitched in with 75 yards rushing on 8 carries and 3 touchdowns. Isaiah Bruce had 44 yards rushing on 6 carries. Luke Benson went 3 for 3 passing for 38 yards, hitting Kade Chrisman for 2 of those passes and 35 yards and 1 touchdown. The Panthers would rush the ball for 366 yards on the night, and collect 404 yards of total offense.
Le-Win (4-0) will head to Stockton (3-1) next week, while Dakota (1-3) returns home to finish their crossover schedule with EPC (2-2).
