Week 9 | Dakota vs Le-Win
Dakota -
Long gone are the days of tight match-ups and close games between the Dakota Indians and Lena-Winslow Panthers. With the season winding down for both playoff bound teams, the only thing standing in their way was 48 minutes of seed determining football.
Dakota would receive the ball first and were not able to move the ball before punting to the Panthers. The Panthers, wasting no time, scored on their first play on the legs of Isaiah Bruce. Bruce ran 51 yards for a quick 6-0 lead.
Dakota, looking to respond, was once again forced to punt the ball. The Panthers once again wasted no time finding the end zone, this time on the legs of Keegan Gyland. Gyland ran 56 yards for the score.
The Panthers would add scores of 71 and 68 yards to stretch the lead to 28-0 at halftime. To start the second half the Panthers marched down the field and scored on a quarterback keeper of 3 yards by Cade Benson.
Le-Win reached a running clock after Bruce added another 40 yard run, giving the Panthers a 44-0 lead. Dakota would add a couple scores late to make the final 44-13.
Le-Win was led on the ground by Gyland with 155 yards. Bruce added 124, and Ormiston also had 101 yards on the ground.
Dakota was led by Trey Engelbrecht, who had 52 yards and a touchdown.
