Week 7 | Du-Pec vs East Dubuque

In a game that meant everything for East Dubuque in terms of keeping their playoff hopes alive, they needed to make the long road trip to Pecatonica to face a Du-Pec team who was coming off their first win of the year. It was not a simple task, but if East Dubuque could string together 3 straight wins, they would have qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

In the 1st quarter East Dubuque jumped out to a 6-0 lead, which would hold up through the 1st quarter, but at the start of the 2nd Du-Pec responded with a touchdown and a 2 point conversion to take their 1st lead 8-6 with 11 minutes until half. East Dubuque would answer right back to regain the lead 14-8 2 minutes later.

The remainder of the game belonged to the Rivermen, as they fought through wet conditions, churning out yards on the ground, and scored 18 unanswered points to win the game 26-14, improving their record to 2-5. On the other hand, the Warriors dropped their record to 2-5, and with it eliminated themselves from the playoffs.

Du-Pec shut East Dubuque's rushing game, holding them to -13 yards on the night. For the Rivermen, they were led by Caden Manning, who ran for 208 yards on 30 attempts and scored 1 TD.

East Dubuque was led by Layne Boyer who went 13-30 passing for 226 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs.
