Week 2 | Polo vs Milledgeville
Polo -
One of the more intriguing matchups Friday night was the contest between rivals, as Polo played host to Milledgeville. Mired in slow starts last season has carried over this season for the Missiles, as they would get on the board with a safety for an early 2-0 lead after a failed snap on a punt went out of bounds through the end zone.
Polo would respond, as Braiden Soltow found Tucker Mumford on a 54 yard TD pass, propelling the Marcos to a 6-2 lead, but Missile running back Carson Boyer returned the favor on a 35 yard TD run on the ensuing drive, capped off with a 2 point conversion, giving the Missiles a 10-6 lead they carried into halftime.
The Missiles would waste no time in the 2nd half, as Cayde Gusloff took the second play of the half to the house on a 47 yard TD run, and after another successful 2 point try, the Missiles were out in front 18-6 with 11:13 left in the 3rd quarter.
On the Missiles next drive they would score again, and would add another 2 point try to give them a 26-6 lead, that would hold up for the remainder of the game, as the Marcos would get on the board 21 seconds later to cap the scoring in favor of the Missiles 26-8.
