Warren Warriors
The Warren Warriors will enter the 2018 season as their last season in the NUIC Upstate. The Warriors will enter into a 2 year co-op agreement with Black Hawk out of South Wayne, WI for the 2019 season and compete in the WIAA. With that, they will also be under a new direction, as former head coach Jared McNutt left Warren to take over the reigns at EPC. Enter in Shawn Teske, who will take over for this season, and also led the Warriors for 3 years, including 2 trips to the playoffs in his previous stint.
The Warriors did not have a lot of numbers in 2017, leading to their decision to join into a co-op in 2019. The Warriors had to forfeit a game last year due to low numbers, a decision many feel was the best decision as the majority of their team were made up of underclassmen. In 2018, the Warriors will still face the same battle, but do hope to be more competitive and have a successful final season in the NUIC. Since 2010, when the Warriors dissolved their co-op with River Ridge, they have gone 26-49 with 3 playoff appearances.
The Warriors are 1-3 in the playoffs all-time and in search for their 4th playoff appearance. The expectations are not very high for the Warriors, but if they can find the right guys in the right positions, they can fulfill their goal of being more competitive in 2018, and lead to bigger things for them in 2019.
