Week 5 | Dakota Vs. Le-Win

Dakota

In a battle of 1A ranked teams between conference powers of the past, Le-Win dominated in their 5th consecutive win over arch-rival Dakota.

Dakota started the game receiving the ball, reaching Le-Win territory before being forced to punt the ball. Unfortunately for the Indians, this would be the only time they would reach Panther territory until late in the 4th quarter after the game was well in hand.

Le-Win acted quickly on their opening drive as Rhaveon Valentine raced 77 yards down the sideline to put the Panthers in the red zone. A few plays later, the Panthers found the end zone on a Tanner Lawfer to Ty Chrisman 6 yard touchdown pass to give Le-Win an early 6-0 lead.

The game settled in for the 1st half, but late in the 2nd quarter Le-Win got the ball back on their own 48 yard line with 1:51 left in the half. They would find pay dirt again on another Lawfer to Chrisman touchdown connection - this time from 25 yards out with 46 seconds remaining. The 2 point try would be successful, giving Le-Win a 14-0 lead at the half.

Le-Win started the 2nd half receiving the ball and within 2 minutes, Payden Lingle put the Panthers up 20-0 with 9:53 left in the 3rd on a 2 yard touchdown run. Le-Win would have the ball once again 2 minutes and 44 seconds later, putting together a long 6 minute and 45 second drive and throwing the final dagger at Dakota as Valentine would score from 9 yards out extending the Panthers lead to 28-0.

Le-Win would get the ball back 43 seconds later, only 19 seconds into the 4th quarter and drive 80 yards down the field, capped off by another Lingle TD run, this time from 2 yards out to seal the 35-0 victory for the Panthers.

Le-Win dominated the game in every facet, scoring on 5 of their 8 drives in the game. The Panthers would out gain the Indians 375 yards to 165 yards on the night. Valentine would lead the Panther attack with 12 carries for 218 yards and 1 TD. Tanner Lawfer was 4-6 passing for 46 yards and 2 TD's, while Payden Lingle would carry the ball 13 times for 26 yards and 2 scores. Bailey Litow contributed 11 carries for 75 yards. Ty Chrisman hauled in 2 passes for 31 yards and 2 scores. Le-Win would carry the ball a total of 41 times for 336 yards, racking up ground at an impressive 8.2 yards per carry.

For Dakota, Andrew Wenger had 9 carries for 24 yards on the night. Matt Holste would carry the ball 12 times for 68 yards. Cade Meier was 7-13 passing for 63 yards and 1 INT.
