Week 3 | Stockton at Polo

The Upstate Game of the Week featured the Stockton Blackhawks (3-0) and the Polo Marcos (2-1). Stockton was eager to show why many had them labeled as the conference favorite at the start of the season, and were looking to dish out a little payback to the Marcos for their 48-8 win over the Blackhawks last year.

Polo opened the game with a nifty reverse on the opening kickoff, returning the ball to their own 48 yard line to start the game. The Marcos would go on a drive, marching the ball down into Stockton territory. The Marcos would score on the drive, but a holding penalty negated the TD as Polo would stall the drive on the Blackhawks 5 yard line. From there Stockton would go on a 95 yard TD drive in under 4 minutes as Hayden Fox would connect with Gavin Krahmer on a 26 yard TD pass. It would be Fox's only TD pass on the night, but he wouldn't be done. This gave Stockton an early 6-0 lead after a failed two point try.

Polo would have a quick 3 and out possesion after failing to gain much yardage on their second possession. Stockton would go on an almost 6 minute drive that saw them turn the ball over on downs at the Polo 15 yard line. Once again Polo would be forced to punt, this time allowing Stockton to start on their own 31 yard line. Just over a minute later, Dillon Hatfield would put the Blackhawks up 12-0 with a 1 yard TD run. The two point try would not be good as Stockton apparently fumbled the ball before crossing the goal line.

On Polo's next possesion they would march the ball in just under 2 minutes down the field as Tristan Aguilar would punch the ball in from 11 yards out, cutting the lead to 12-6.

It was the Hayden Fox show after that, as he would run the ball in for TD's on three consecutive series from 16, 23, and 11 yards out. Dylan Oppold would get to paydirt on an 11 yard TD run and Brian Booth would cap the scoring for the Blackhawks on the night with a 5 yard TD run of his own as the Blackhawks scorched the Marcos 50-6.

Fox would finish the night on 18-30 passing for 217 yards and 1 TD and carried the ball 15 times for 73 yards and 3 rushing TD's. Hatfield would have 7 carries for 62 yards rushing with a TD and 6 receptions for 74 yards. Nolan Buske had 7 receptions for 66 yards and Krahmer had 5 receptions for 77 yards with a TD.
