Week 9 | Dakota vs Galena

Dakota came into Galena Friday night with a chance to host a 1st round playoff game.  Galena came in staring at a disappointing season that had them facing their worst season since 1975.

 

Galena came out in the 1st half and put a shock wave through the Indians as they played tough and took a 21-13 lead into halftime.  The second half saw the Indians tie the game at 28 all and then take the lead 36-28, but it wasn't over yet.  Galena would score a TD with 1 second remaining, but failed on the 2 point conversion as Dakota preserved the win 36-34.

 

For Dakota Andrew Wenger had 19 carries for 146 yards and 2 TD.  Cade Meier was 10-11 passing for 173 yards and 3 TD's.  Carter Drake had 5 receptions for 125 yards and 2 TD's.

 

For Galena Mickey Lorento was 13-21 passing for 191 yards and 3 TD's.  Hunter Holland had 7 receptions for 106 yards and 3 scores.  CJ Bauer had 17 carries for 106 yards and 1 TD.

 

Dakota will play host to Polo in the 1st round of the IHSA state playoffs Saturday afternoon.
