Orangeville had a lot look forward to during their homecoming week. Coming into the game with visiting Durand Friday night at 2-4 they were still looking at an outside view of making the playoffs. To keep that opportunity alive they would need to come away with a victory Friday night.
It didn't look good at the beginning for the Broncos as Durand got on the scoreboard first on a 57 yard run by Grant McCorkle for a TD, putting Bulldogs up 6-0 early. But the Broncos would strike back as Austin Guy found Caden Getz for a 47 yard TD pass, and with a successful 2 point try the Broncos were out in front 8-6.
Orangeville would strike again through the air late in the 1st quarter on another Guy to Getz connection, this time from 20 yards out. Once again the 2 point try was good boosting the Bronco lead to 16-6.
The Broncos would explode in the 2nd quarter as Guy and Getz would connect on 2 more TD passes from 25 yards and 6 yards out. In between Guy would rush for another TD from 10 yards out giving the Broncos a big 38-6 halftime lead.
The 3rd quarter saw the Broncos get on the board two more times as freshman Dalton Lowe would run in from 4 yards out and freshman Garret Rodebaugh would scamper in from 12 yards out to cap the scoring for the Broncos while extending their lead to 52-6 where the score would remain the same to end the game.
Orangeville out gained Durand on the night 379 yards to 183 yards. Orangeville improved to 3-4 on the season keeping their playoff hopes alive.
For Orangeville Austin Guy was 10-15 passing for 150 yards and 4 scoring tosses and rushed 15 times for 79 yards and another TD. Caden Getz hauled in 8 passes for 131 yards and 4 TD's. Dalton Lowe had a game high 102 yards rushing on 16 carries and 1 TD, while Garret Rodebaugh carried the ball 4 times for 25 yards and 1 TD.
For Durand Grant McCorkle had a team high 97 yards rushing on 10 carries and the lone Bulldog score.
